Andrew Lyon

Andrew learned piano at an early age and later progressed to the accordion.  At the age of 20, having danced for many years already, he formed the Scottish Measure band.  He is a well-known accompanist for Scottish Dancing and plays regularly at day schools across the UK and Europe and at the RSCDS Summer School in St. Andrews.  He has composed several tunes for Scottish dancing, many of which have been published as lead tunes.
Scottish Measure was formed in Manchester in 1986.  The band members, although not born in Scotland, all have strong Scottish connections.  They are skilled dancers as well as musicians, all being trained in Scottish country and highland dancing to demonstration standard.
